The year 1991 was Schumacher's first big year in Formula 1. Michael Schumacher, then 22 years old and reigning Formula 3 champion, was not actually scheduled to race in F1 that season. Nevertheless, he made it into the 7UP Jordan team for his first race, the Belgian Grand Prix in Spa-Francorchamps.

The 1/2 scale miniature helmet is a faithful replica of Michael Schumacher's driver's helmet from his first Formula 1 season in 1991. The paintwork combines the design of Schumacher's main sponsors with the colours of the German flag in black/red/gold.

The manufacturer Schuberth is known for its high-quality and first-class work. Not only Michael Schumacher's helmets were made by Schuberth in his time, but the current helmets of his son Mick also come from this manufacture.
